OXO Conical Burr vs OXO Compact: Which Fits Your Coffee Corner?

These OXO grinders share a brand name, but solve different storage and batch-size problems. Start with how much coffee you make, then look at the space you can give the grinder.

Our verdict: Choose the Compact when small size and modest batches matter most. Consider the larger Conical Burr when you prefer a bigger hopper and a repeated timed routine. Neither is a taste-test winner here.

If your coffee corner is small

Think about where the appliance will actually live. A grinder that requires rearranging the counter every morning adds a step before you have made a cup. The Compact is our starting suggestion for this situation.

Check access to the lid, clearance under cabinets, and whether the container can be removed comfortably. Compare the dimensions on the exact model listing with your available space.

If you brew for more than one person

The larger hopper may suit a household that wants a familiar routine. That does not mean it must be filled to the top. Capacity is not an automatic quality score: if you brew a small amount, extra capacity may not be a benefit you need.

If cleaning is the deciding factor

The Compact’s removable burrs are worth noting when comparing access. Read the cleaning instructions before deciding which components can be washed. A removable part is not automatically dishwasher-safe.

We have not timed either cleaning process. Compare the instructions and access rather than relying on an unsupported claim that one is easiest to clean.

If you are buying for espresso

Do not choose only by the number of settings. Investigate how adjustment works for your machine and beans. A fine-to-coarse description is not proof of the control every espresso setup needs. Our five-grinder guide includes an alternative designed with an espresso adjustment range.

Compare the complete purchase

  • Full model name and number.
  • New, used, open-box, or refurbished condition.
  • Included hopper, container, and accessories.
  • Voltage for your country.
  • Return terms and applicable warranty.

A lower price can be a poor comparison if a different model or missing part is involved. Compare the complete purchase, not just the headline number.
